Deaf in the Picture 2007, Het Ketelhuis Amsterdam
The second edition of the film festival Deaf in the Picture will take place
from the 15th untill the 18th of November 2007 in the city of
Amsterdam, Holland. The heart of the festival will consist of something we have christened New Deaf Cinema. These are film and video productions
in which deaf film makers have taken control. Films in which deaf people show how they regard themselves and how they experience the (hearing) world. On the other hand Deaf in the Picture 2007 will offer a survey of the image of deaf people in features, almost always defined by hearing people, today and in the past.
